Medical Supplies, Equipment and Medicines FAQs
Below are answers to our most frequently asked questions dealing with medical supplies, equipment and medicines. |

|
Do you accept expired medicines from donors?
No, the World Health Organization (WHO) came out with guidelines a few years ago that many countries have adopted that has made it virtually impossible to send expired medicines to other countries. |

What do you need the most?
FAME needs children’s chewable vitamins, adult vitamins, antifungal creams, and antibiotics. Please see "Donations Needed" under the Medicines-Supplies tab to the left for more information. |

Where can I send donated medicine?
Please ship all donated medicine or medical supplies to: FAME, 4545 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46203. |

What medical equipment do you need?
FAME needs all kind of equipment from hospital beds to Band-Aids. Please see "Guidelines for Donations" under the Medicines-Supplies tab to the left for more information. |

What medical equipment can you not accept as a donation?
There are many medicines and pieces of medical equipment that are not even appropriate for third world clinics and hospitals. As a part of TECH (www.techmd.org), FAME tries to maintain the highest standards in providing medicines and equipment for missionaries. Is there an Application process?
Yes. Each potential participant must complete a FAME Trip Application form which should be mailed into FAME with a $50.00 deposit that goes toward the total cost of the trip. |

Is there an Application deadline?
There is usually no Trip Application deadline set. The total cost of the trip may increase for an individual however if for example airline tickets have already been purchased for the team and the individual joins the team at a later date only to find that the airline ticket prices have increased. |

|
What does the total cost of the trip include?
The total cost of the trip includes airfare, housing, food, and transportation in country, travel insurance and administrative fees. It does not include the cost of a passport, any immunizations that the participant receives, food that is purchased stateside, or souvenirs. In addition, the total cost of the trip may vary slightly with some participants depending on the cost of the airfare to and from their departure city. |

Is my deposit or money contributed and designated toward the trip refundable?
No. If a participant backs out of a trip, the money that has been donated to FAME can be designated toward a future Short-term Mission trip with FAME or will be accepted as a gift made to the ministry of FAME. |
