September Prayer Calendar
Thank you so much for your continued partnership with FAME through prayer. Our mission partners, scholarship recipients, volunteers, board members and staff are blessed by your devotion to prayer for the ministry.
This month, we ask that you keep in mind those in other parts of the world that are experiencing extreme crises. Whether it be the recent earthquake in Haiti, the crisis in Afghanistan, the unrest in Myanmar, the continued Covid outbreaks worldwide, tropical storms and hurricanes in the Caribbean and southern US, worldwide hunger, and the list goes on, prayer is most definitely needed now all around the world. Recently, I came across some encouraging scriptures when visiting the website for World Vision that speak to people in crises and how God is with us throughout these critical times. Pray not only for the people affected but for the Christians that are working in those areas that the love of Jesus will be shown.
- “Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.” —Psalm 57:1 (NIV)
- “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” —Psalm 46:1 (NIV)
- The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. —Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
- “He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire.” —Psalm 46:9 (NIV)
- “For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.” —Psalm 72:12-14 (NIV)
- “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” —Matthew 5:4 (NIV)
Another item of prayer for this month is a short-term mission trip that will be taking place September 12-26. This team will be serving with Central Brazil Mission on a 1-week boat trip along the Amazon River. This team will be traveling on the “Frances Ann” and will be docking at multiple remote villages along the river to treat both the physical and spiritual needs of the patients they will be seeing. Please pray for the trip participants that are going on this trip and for the people they will be treating.
Also, this month, please join us in prayer for five new FAME Scholarship recipients that are all studying to become medical professionals in their home countries. These scholarship recipients are sponsored by a FAME mission partner, are enrolled in a medical study program where they are studying to become a doctor, nurse, or midwife and will then serve with that mission partner after graduation for 1-2 years. We are thankful for our wonderful donors who give to the scholarship program and who helped to make these new scholarship grants available.
Other items of prayer include some returning volunteer groups for whom we are so thankful, various conferences that FAME staff will be attending, and visits to some FAME partner churches. Thank you once again for being a Prayer Partner!

Look What You Did Now!
This story of YOUR IMPACT with re-bar, concrete, sand, aggregate, etc……all matter because of vulnerable people like this 60-year-old woman in India.
“She came with a small marble-sized swelling on the left upper jaw, we scheduled a simple in-clinic procedure for the next week. But quarantines and lockdowns prevented her from coming and our outpatient clinic (NACEA in India- Dr. Rajesh Paul) from being open. Months later she returned to us with a large swelling occupying the whole of the left side of her face.” After testing, it was obvious that they COULD NOT DO THE PROCEDURE, BUT WOULD HAVE TO REFER HER to a Doctor they trust. BUT AFTER THIS IN-PATIENT HOSPITAL IS COMPLETE – THEY WILL BE ABLE to do this procedure! This story ends well. The treatments were completed and this family of all Hindus, except for one Christian niece, began to be visited by a NACEA planted church Preacher. Rajesh writes, “Last Sunday was the first day that the lady and her husband went to church for the first time in their lives. Pray that this family grows more in faith and accept Christ in the near future!”
This is something YOU have done! You have made it possible for women like this to be treated in the name of Jesus and HEAR the gospel! It may take two trucks of 40 tons of sand, 22 tractor loads of stone aggregate, 20000kg of cement, thousands of pounds of rebar, and many hours of labor; but this 2nd Story Hospital Floor (poured last week) is the OPEN DOOR FOR THE GOSPEL for thousands in the North Andhra Coast of India.
Lost Everything, but God Rescued
It was a quiet Saturday morning in the Haitian Village of les Cayes. Sabrina and her family were getting up and making plans for breakfast. Sabrina is a 22-year-old girl who had dreams of attending a Haitian University to be a nurse. She had been recommended to FAME for a Scholarship by a Haitian FAME Partner but had not yet heard if her application had been received or if she had been chosen to be a FAME Scholarship Recipient.
FAME Scholarships provide nationals the resources for the in-country schooling needed to become medical professionals and then serve their sponsoring ministry in that nation!
As Sabrina and her family were sitting down to eat, the ground began to shake. They ran to safety as they watched their home crumble in the August 14th 7.2 Earthquake. They lost everything! It seemed her chance to go to school to be a nurse was also lost.
But that’s not how God works. Unaware of Sabrina’s earthquake status, this week, FAME approved her application and notified her sponsoring ministry! We just received the message back that told us of her tragedy- but the amazing response that she will be able to start her education and become a Medical Evangelism, Medical Professional!
Amazing! Global Health Situations are not predictable, but our FAME Monthly Partners are! Your faithful partnership allows FAME to empower nationals to become medical professionals and change communities one person at a time!
Thank you for your partnership!
P.S. A Shipping Container of Supplies for a FAME Partner Hospital overwhelmed by the Earthquake and Tropical Storm, is on the Ocean right now on its way to Haiti! Please Pray for FAME’s many Medical Evangelism Partners in Haiti!

How Do You Measure Impact?
Every doctor appointment around the globe begins with a measurement. Height and Weight, blood pressure, oxygen level, heart rate, blood work etc.
But how do you measure impact?
Abieto was losing weight and unable to eat without getting sick. His parents tried homemade remedies for an upset stomach but nothing helped. After finding transportation from a distant relative, Abieto and his parents traveled nearly two hours to a FAME partner clinic where an ultrasound (which YOU helped to provide) discovered the problem and surgery was required. His parents were scared of the surgery because they were fearful of losing their son, as all of us would be – but here is the difference – this FAME partner doctor was able to tell them of the hope in Jesus Christ. The whole family believed, and were baptized! Abieto had the surgery, and is back in his village, in school, and playing with his friends!
That’s our measurement of impact.
IMPACT = treated in the name of Jesus + hear the gospel
This next year FAME’s IMPACT goal is that for every dollar given to FAME – that 2 people will be treated in the name of Jesus + hear the gospel. I wish all my financial decisions had such an impact! For 50 years lives have been being changed by medical evangelism with FAME, and to think that 2 people will experience the hope and help of Jesus for every dollar I give to FAME! WOW!
Can you go to www.fameworld.org/donate and make a special 50th Anniversary gift or become a $50 Monthly Impact Partner if you are not already?
Global Health situations are not predictable- but our Monthly Partners are- and that has allowed FAME to be your partner in medical evangelism for boys like Abieto.

August Prayer Calendar
The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;
where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.
Psalm 65:8
We so appreciate your continued support of the ministry of FAME through prayer. We are humbled in knowing that you are faithfully praying for FAME Mission partners, volunteers, scholarship recipients, staff, board members, along with various ministry activities.
This month, we ask that you join us in prayer for many of our regular FAME volunteers that come weekly or monthly to serve. We are blessed to have them use their time and talents to help further the Kingdom through the important part they play in medical evangelism.
We also ask that you pray for the FAME scholarship recipients that are studying to become medical professionals in their home countries. The current scholarship recipients are studying to become doctors, surgeons, nurses, community health workers and Pharmacy techs. We are blessed to be able to provide these medical scholarships to these talented Christian young people who have a heart to serve others.
Other items of prayer this month include FAME’s first medical mission trip in over a year and a half to Mexico from August 21-28. Please pray for the host mission, Worldwide Hispanic Outreach and the trip participants that will be going on the trip. The team will be involved in medical outreaches and teaching preventative health.
Lastly, please pray for many of the shipments of medical supplies that have been sent in recent months and that have arrived in-country or will be arriving soon. Please pray that the medical supplies will be a blessing to the ministries to whom they will be going and that they will help the mission in their efforts to bring people to Christ through medical evangelism.
Thank you again for your continued partnership with FAME through prayer!

You Are a Part of the Story
But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn,
and took care of him. Luke 10:33-34
This parable, which was told by Jesus, is a real event every day with YOUR FAME partners around the globe. You are a part of the story, because the bandages, the medicines, the transportation, and the place of care are all partnership provided by YOU time and time again!
We thank God for your partnership, which allows our global partner clinics in deprived and hard-to-reach communities, provide exceptional care in the name of Jesus.
Recently, we heard from FAME Partner, Ghana Christian Mission, and how they are making an impact in the name of Jesus.
In Ghana, a lovely young woman was rushed into the Kumdi Clinic, one of the 7 health facilities started by Ghana Christian Mission with FAME in 1996. She was found unconscious by a ‘good samaritan’, literally on the side of the road with her one-year-old child sitting by her side. Her vital signs and pulse were dangerously low and weak. She was attended to and treated for free until she was again stable and able to return to her home. Her child was well fed and cared for also. She left with the message of Jesus in her grasp.
At the Kumdi Clinic, hardworking nurses and other staff treat over 2500 patients per month. In June, this mission partner’s church planters baptized over 60 people, as they are winning souls for the Lord.
We thank God for your partnership, which allows our global partner clinics in the deprived and hard-to-reach communities, to provide exceptional care in the name of Jesus.
From the Chairman’s Desk
As I look back over our fiscal year of 2020-2021, I am amazed at how God showed up and you showed up in so many ways. At the height of the pandemic here in the U.S., we had to navigate many obstacles with businesses shutting down, restrictions in workplace environments, and a worldwide economy that had many new challenges to navigate.
Even in all this change and sometimes turmoil, you, and others like you, gave abundantly so we could support medical needs all over the world. Because of your generosity, we were able to supply many partners in developing countries with masks, gowns, and medical supplies and equipment to provide hope for the sick and the lost. God did not forget about us but showed up in remarkable ways to help those in need around the world.
However, the rest of the world is still struggling to keep up with the COV-19 pandemic. The need is great and we really appreciate your continued support so we can continue to send aid where it is needed most.
Our mission is to be a Global Leader in evangelism through healthcare. God has given us many opportunities to have that vision realized in the last fiscal year. Our partners estimated that well over 1,000,000 people had the gospel shared with them last year and well over 1,000,000 people received care or were treated. Thank you for making this possible. Also, I thank God for blessing us with the resources to help so many.
God Bless,
Kevin Hart
Board Chairman
July Prayer Calendar
With 2021 now halfway over, we reflect on God’s blessings of what he has provided so far this year. We are so grateful for our many faithful partners in ministry. Whether a donor, a missionary partner, a volunteer, or a prayer partner, you are a blessing to the ministry of FAME.
At the beginning of July, we would like to ask you to continue praying for our mission partners in Myanmar and Haiti. Both countries are experiencing extreme unrest. One mission partner in Haiti says it is the worst he has experienced. He recently wrote, “In reality, nobody is safe around Port Au Prince. It doesn’t matter if you are Haitian, American, French, or any other nationality. The gangs do not really care. The insecurity is scary, the nonstop violence is problematic for the poor people. Haiti has taken a major step backward since the earthquake. We need to train up the next leader of Haiti and a person truly devoted to God who can help change the country. Only God can save Haiti.”
In Myanmar, one partner stated that they have fled to Thailand for safety. He recently wrote, “Our team had been doing medical outreaches and helping refugees who were IPD (internally displaced people). It became a life danger after military coup in February. I was quite worried in May. My family decided to escape to Thailand safe zone.” Haiti and Myanmar both are in great need of prayer right now. Please pray for strength and the safety of our mission partners as they go through this trying time. Pray also that God may intervene to bring peace to these areas.
We would also like to ask for prayers for our FAME staff, as well as some of our wonderful volunteers and volunteer groups who give of their time and talents each month. We are so thankful for your prayers as we serve the ministry of FAME. If you would like more information about volunteering at FAME, you can contact Barry Reed, FAME Director of Mission Resources, at barryr@fameworld.org.
Also, please pray for some conferences and other visits that Executive Director, Bill Warren and Director of Development, Jeff Coon will be attending. Please pray for their safety while traveling and that their visits will make an impact for the Kingdom.
Lastly, during the last week of July, continue to pray for some additional countries where we are not currently working, but where we pray opportunities may open for us to share the love of Jesus through medical evangelism. You can use the book or website, Operation World (www.operationworld.org) as a resource.
Thank you again for your continued partnership with FAME through prayer!
Blessings in the coming month.

The Lord We Preach is Stronger Than The Witch Doctor!
8-year-old Eddwell was bitten by a Puff Adder, Africa’s most deadly snake – he was dying.
His parents, following the village witch doctor’s advice, kept him home many days – but it was now clear that Eddwell wouldn’t survive if they didn’t do something. In near panic, they arrived at the Mashoko Christian Hospital and heard Dr. Bungu assure them, “…the Lord we preach is stronger than the witch doctor!”
Treatments began, but more days passed before Eddwell’s parents would allow the Mashoko staff to amputate his lower leg – but this treatment and the ongoing prayers and care of the staff saved his life.
Mashoko is in Zimbabwe – but as a FAME partner, you were also there as little Eddwell received his life-saving treatment.
Because of FAME partners like you, he rested and recovered on a bed shipped to Africa by FAME. He received an artificial leg sent by FAME. He learned to walk on rehab equipment provided by FAME.
But most importantly, because of the care received in the name of Jesus – Eddwell and his mother both accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior! THANK YOU FOR THE ROLE YOU PLAYED!
2021 marks FAME’s 50th year – and one thing we’ve learned for sure in that half-century – Medical evangelism works! Your prayer and financial partnership show me that you believe it works also – so again, thank you 50 years-worth!
Now, as we enter the next 50 years – what can we expect? Will FAME and the services we provide still be relevant and needed?
Oh my, YES! For our 50th it seems like a 50% increase in sending medical equipment and supplies would be a good goal – BUT so far in 2021, there’s been a 260% increase in the GLOBAL NEED and the amount you have made possible to send! The REQUESTS FOR HELP this year have increased dramatically!
So, to you – one who clearly believes that medical evangelism matters – one who loves those without hope and without basic medical care – one who has made your FAME partnership a priority – to you, the staff and I pledge to keep doing the work you help make possible – the work of helping millions more like Eddwell all over the world!
In fact, I’m so convinced that what we are doing together matters, Kelly and I are adding to what we give financially to FAME this year. Perhaps you would do the same.
As a faithful FAME partner, can you give a special 50th Anniversary response of $500, or can you join us as a Monthly FAME Partner at $50 a month or more as a Special 50th Anniversary Response?
Let me tell you just a bit more about Eddwell. Not only did he survive the deadly snake bite, but he completed his schooling at Mashoko High School and went on to study Human Resource Management at university. Eddwell recently married and guess where he works? – Mashoko Christian Hospital as the Human Resource Officer!
So, let’s recap – a little boy in a small African village is bitten by a deadly snake and expected to die – but because 50 years ago FAME partners had a vision to help those without medical care in the name of Jesus – he lives and is working at the hospital where his life was saved.
One more time – THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH A VITAL PART of serving Eddwell and millions more in more than 50 countries for 50 years!
Looking to the future,
Bill Warren
Executive Director
PS – 50 years of history is sobering, yet fun to ponder – but it’s no reason for you to continue your prayer and financial support. Serving more Eddwells, however, is. Eight-year-old boys are still bitten by snakes, parents still hesitate care, and your FAME partner doctors continue to offer life-saving care every day that opens the door for the gospel. – Thanks for considering my request. You can Give Today at www.fameworld.org/give.
