“But doctor, we’re out of those. There’s nothing we can do!”

“Look again!” the doctor said.

Malindia overheard the exchange. She didn’t understand what they needed, but she understood this much: they didn’t have it, and her life was at risk without it.

Another hospital staff member overheard, too. When he asked what they needed, he had news for them: a shipping container from FAME had arrived, and was being unloaded right then.

The container had been delayed for weeks at sea, at the port, and along the road to the hospital. Busy caring for patients, the medical staff hadn’t yet heard it had arrived.

Thankfully, the supplies came off before the equipment. A quick search uncovered exactly what Malindia needed. What had been unavailable moments earlier was now in their hands.

And Malindia’s story doesn’t end with her recovery.

Her husband was at the hospital every day. He was there when chaplains and staff prayed with them. He was there when they shared about Jesus, the true source of hope. And he was there when Malindia was released. Later, he shared:

“Only a miracle from God made my wife’s recovery possible. That’s why we started attending the church recommended by the hospital staff, and why our whole family is now following Jesus.”

Years ago, a small storefront business near me offered packing and shipping services. Its name was simple: SHIP ’N SAVE.

I think about that name differently when I hear stories like Malindia’s. Because that is what you help make possible through FAME.

Supplies are shipped. Lives are saved. And through our partners’ faithful care, people meet Jesus. The reports arrive through emails, thank-you letters, and conversations with our partners:

IV bags just in time in Guatemala. Cardiac care supplies just in time in Kyiv. Mobility equipment when it was needed in Africa. Wound care supplies just in time in South America.

Each shipment holds supplies. Each story holds a person.

Someone like Malindia, whose family now knows the hope of Jesus because hospital staff cared for her body and shared their faith.
