Good Friday.
It is the day when hope seemed lost.
The disciples saw suffering and they saw loss.
They saw what felt like the end of everything they believed in.
The One who healed… now wounded.
The One who brought life… now hanging on a cross.
The One they followed… now gone.
It did not look like hope.
But what they could not yet see…Was that hope was being delivered.
On the day hope seemed lost, God was delivering it.
Recently, at a FAME-supported mobile clinic serving refugees, a 17-year-old deaf girl came seeking care.
She was already navigating life without hearing. Now she faced illness as well; another barrier, another moment where hope could have felt out of reach.
As she approached the team, communication was difficult. Different languages. Different forms of sign. Uncertainty.
One of our staff members shared:
“I hesitated for a moment, knowing my sign language is rusty and not exactly the same as hers. Still, we tried… and we connected.”
In that moment, something simple—and powerful—happened.
She was seen.
She was understood.
She was treated with dignity.
And she received care.
It was a reminder that God is not limited by language, culture, or ability.
What could have been a moment of frustration became a moment of connection.
What could have been discouragement became hope.
Because of partners like you, a team of compassionate caregivers was there—ready to serve, ready to try, ready to meet her where she was.
And everything changed.
Across Africa and maybe even for you, there are still places where hope can feel distant. But just as it was on that first Good Friday…
God is still at work.
Quietly. Faithfully. Powerfully.
Bringing hope closer—one person, one moment, one act of care at a time.
Because of your partnership, hope is moving.
Across Africa, hope is being delivered through Clinics. Care. Christ.
And even when it doesn’t always look like it…
God is still writing stories of redemption.
